Company's Coming!

Stumble Upon Toolbar

I am very excited to announce that I met a sweet homeschool mom who is coming over with her children for lunch today. The exciting part is that she doesn't even think I'm a weirdo AT ALL!

Okay, truth be told, that last part cannot actually be verified, but she did not run away from me screaming when I invited her over, AND (!) she didn't even ask me, in an incredulous tone, any questions about my reproductive habits!

So, as you can imagine, I have given all the children a good spit shinin' and gone over the rules about sucking their toes and wearing their food and climbing the walls and how we DO NOT, say it with me now, kids, DO NOT do those things in front of company.

And lest you think I am exaggerating with those cautionary rules, here is photographic evidence of what we are dealing with.

Anyhow, we are going to have Strawberry Spinach Salad and "Make Your Own Pizza". I'll have whole wheat dough all ready to pat out with sauce, pepperoni slices, olives, onions, pineapple chunks, bacon, and shredded cheese set around for everyone to choose from.

Of course, I'll serve sweet tea with lemon slices and fresh mint on the side. She is bringing dessert.

Hopefully, a good time will be had by all.

Hurray!!! Isn't it fun to socialize with your 'own kind'?? So much less stress when words like "chores" or "whole wheat" pop out! Have fun!!

can't wait to hear how things went. I am glad you get to have someone over. Oh man, now that I wrote this is sounds pretty repetetive. I guess I am the weirdo! And just for the note--big families are awesome. God just didn't allow us to get that far!

I also have a wall-climber. She can even put one foot on each side of the doorframe and hang there.

We had a great time too! Thanks for coming and we will have to do it again sometime. After y'all left I asked Kennan if he had fun and he said "Yeah! I have lots of new friends!"!!
