Dog Meets Car (Plus a Whole Mess of Random)

Stumble Upon Toolbar

This is what happens when the dog doesn't listen to a word I say. (Notice my son comforted him with one of my GOOD towels. Not the orange "Daytona Beach '97" towel, but one of the GOOD ones.)
If I have told that dog once, I have told him a hundred times NOT to chase cars, but does he listen to me? NOOOooooooo. He goes right out to the front yard while four of the girls are having a picnic and gets himself hit by a car.

My 7 year old, our most compassionate animal lover, ran to him and helped him limp to the yard and under a tree.

We rushed him to the vet and they determined that he had multiple fractures. He was sedated, bandaged and sent home in a stupor. During dinner, he awoke and thrashed around in his confused state, and flung one of his casts right off! Back to the vet, this time for the night. (Goodbye hundreds of dollars. It was nice knowing you.)

Now for the random:

The 7 year old has been begging me to give her cornrows, so I finally studied it a little on youtube and gave it a whirl. This was my first attempt. I got tired on the last two rows on each side and just did a twist.

Look what I won from Blog Frog! No, not the girl! The SHIRT! Need a closer look?

See?
Cuteness on the blog!

And finally, here is one proud 9 year old with her hard earned doll.

Don't forget to check back soon for the dramatic resolution of the stunning episode of "Who Gets the Apron" on "As the Smockity Sews".

Poor dog, I mean poor Smockity. It's not enough to care for all those children, but now you have the pleasure of tending to an injured dog.

Love the shirt, I want one of those.

Love the cuteness.

Congrats on finally earning enough to buy your doll!

Great pics of the girls and I'm very proud of Cam for all her hard work! Way to go girl!

And all I can about that first photo is poor Mikey! :( But with the son's care and your good blue towel, I bet he'll be as good as new in no time.

All that money will be worth it because in reality your not paying for the dog to get well but stories to write about on your blog! I hope he is okay and doesn't have to stay in the cast for long. Your children will remember you as a compassionate loving Mom who is willing to spend major bucks to keep the family pet healthy!

Your girls are getting so big and cute, I can't believe how that sun sown there has made them so blond and pretty. It seems as if all it does here is make us HOT!!!
Take care and when your in that nice cool river think of me in the parched hot dirt of the Panhandle.

When I first saw the cornrows I thought they were professionally done. Great job!

awww poor puppy. I hope he feels better soon and learns his lesson and doesn't chase cars ever again.
