Finding God in Footprints

Our family recently took a little field trip to one of our nearby state parks called Dinosaur Valley.

In the 1940's a school boy discovered a series of fossilized dinosaur footprints in the shallow bottom of the Paluxy River. He brought it to the attention of his teacher, and the area was eventually excavated and turned into a national park.



It really was fascinating to see the huge footprints and think that at one time those monstrous animals roamed these parts.

We happened to see this sign near the first set of footprints.


I didn't think much of it, except to find it interesting that people will go to great lengths to deny that God could have created humans and animals in the same one week period, as it states in Genesis.

Then, when we got down to the riverbed, we saw this.



Hmmmm. If I didn't know any better, I'd say those look like fossilized human footprints. Let's compare it to a real foot. MaddieLynn, will you do the honors?




My husband pointed out these muddy footprints that had been recently made by a child and noted that no one would would doubt that these were real.



Why then do people doubt that the fossilized footprints are real?

The creation account in Genesis clearly tells us that God created the earth and everything on it in one week. Scientist have theorized that this can not be true for a multitude of reasons, so they must deny clear evidence like those fossilized footprints in order to hold to their theories.

We choose to believe the Biblical account of the creation story.
