Packing Away Christmas

Stumble Upon Toolbar

What REALLY worked for me this week was saving back one of the Star Wars DVDs that my kids got for Christmas.

I used it to bribe them with. Oh, yes. And I'm not even too proud to admit it.

I told them that they could all watch it just as soon as we had every last bit of Christmas packed away.

You have never seen such a whirlwind of productivity. There were lights and silver bells and garland flying through the air and landing in their proper places with nary a single broken bulb. Snow globes and little Santa figurines marched themselves into their protective boxes and the last box was put away all while I was leisurely stirring a cup of hot chocolate and whistling Carol of Bells. I think I even saw Santa wink at me from his Styrofoam coffin.

The above may possibly be a slight exaggeration, but I'm telling y'all I have never turned my head and had Christmas disappear as quickly and neatly as it did this year.

I believe saving back a DVD just became our newest Christmas tradition.

Go to Rocks In My Dryer to see what is working for a few other folks.

Sounds like you found a great way to get stuff done. :) It's great when you can find something that will motivate the kids to work.

What a great new tradition! The DVD was their currency and they wanted paid.

So glad you got Christmas put away so safely and quickly. May my Christmas tree walk itself out to the shed where it lives most of the year. It did put itself into the box, but is languishing in the spare room... maybe I should bribe mine with something too!
