Projects in Progress

Stumble Upon Toolbar

I have several projects going right now, some more urgent than others, in addition to occasionally providing meals and clean clothes to my family. Oh yeah, then there's that whole homeschoolin' thing.

Here are my projects in no particular order:

  • Smocking a bonnet to mail to Canada
  • Making 6 Easter dresses
  • Reading For the Children's Sake
    by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay
  • Knitting a sweater for Emelyn

So, what about you? What projects are you working on right now?

- One tiered skirt for a 5 year old (pattern with material cut out - needs sewn).
- One little romper dress for an almost 8 month old (pattern cut out, material washed and ready to be cut).
- A Little House on the Prairie dress with bonnet for an 8 year olds birthday in 2 weeks. You know, the dress that was supposed to be done for Christmas and I never got around to making it. But wait, there's more... I've now misplaced the pattern.

I know. I should be nominated for Mother of the Year or something.

Oh a bathroom remodel. We have the tile down it now needs to be grouted. The sink is sitting in the bathtub and I just want to close the door and pretend we don't have that bathroom.

A quilt for my son that was supposed to be finished LAST Christmas.

Oh and some how my house has IMPLODED on itself this week. SO I guess that should be first on the list. I HATE WHEN MY HOUSE IMPLOADS ON ITSELF!!!!

--I love to rubberstamp, so Easter Cards are in the works. Easter chocolates will probably follow too.

--A bullentin board for our church missionary cabinet collection effort. Supplies are cut, but need to be assembled for the board.

--One curtain left to hem and hang in our Living room area.

--Not started yet, but I would like to paint my kitchen and basement. We'll probably wait for warmer weather.

I have one sock almost knitted and need to begin another one for Kara. I am painting an oil painting from a photo I took of Emma and cousin at the beach last summer--and have another mountain picture drawn on the canvas. I also love fiddling with my blog and polishing up some of my stories about "Growning Up in the Texas Panhandle." Other than that, it is the usual teaching writing classes, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and yard work waiting to be done, etc.

Ohhh, well lets see. Besides the housekeeping I am trying to embroider 7 beach towels as party favors for Little One's Beach party over Spring Break (the number keeps growing!), starting a new blog to go along with newspaper column, writing article for paper, putting together Em's portfolio for GT, and staring at material I got two years ago to make Easter dresses...maybe next year:)

Let's see:
~ Making 2 girl dresses, one Mama dress and one little boy shirt for Easter (just finished a little bigger boy shirt and romper for baby, all matching material. Hubby didn't want one.)

~ Cleaning for a birthday party this weekend.

~Getting recipes ready for cooking class one week from this Sunday.

~Teaching myself and 7 year old daughter how to knit.

~ The usual clean, feed, launder, teach, break up fights, and the like that always goes on and on and on.....

Wow...projects right now. I bought 4 skeins of 100% cotton yarn...which needs to be made into washcloths. That's about 12 washcloths to make. Other than that, we're trying our darndest to empty out the freezer/fridge and pantry before we move in a few weeks! I think I have to put my diet on hold. ;-)
