There once was a very old woman who was the mother of many young children. At least she felt very old. And tired. Oh, how she was tired! One particular day, she had a long list of errands to run outside of the home and an even longer list of chores to be done at home. In a rare moment of quiet, she sat with her eyes closed, head resting on her hand.
A three year old cherub with a crooked pony tail and a smattering of freckles across her nose asked, "What's the matter, Mommy?"
The woman replied that nothing was the matter except that she was tired. The three year old thought for a moment and said, "Let me sit in your lap, Mommy. That will make it better."
And it did.

And then one day all those children will be grown and gone and you can rest and remember such wonderful moments.
Amazing isn't it how our children can brighten our day in such an instant!!
Ahhhh... what a sweet story.
I've just walked in the door from hours of running errands. I'm exhausted!!! I think I'll look for my sweet 4-year-old, and we'll sit and read a book together.
Aww... how precious. Thank you for sharing. :)
Oh heavens... that was touching. What a balm to a weary souls are little blessings can be.
My baby is 23 years old. I have a headache today. I wish I could hold her in my lap, even though she is 125 pounds! She is too busy to come home and see me! Enjoy your kids while they are small and still at home.
