Thanks to my husband, who enjoys doing the grocery shopping (and is also a frugal zealot), our pantry stays pretty well stocked with non-perishable items.
We have at least 5 unopened bottles of ketchup, 10 jars of peanut butter, and many, many cans of tomato sauce in our pantry, not because we are preparing for a hurricane, but because my husband found them on sale.
Often times, if you check the price per ounce, you may be surprised to find that it is cheaper to buy the smaller package. For instance, this week, Peter Pan peanut butter in the small 18 oz. jar is on sale for $1 at United Grocery Stores. We will be picking up several, even though we already have peanut butter, because we use it a lot, and you just can't beat that price, even in the generic brand.

Walmart had it for a dollar as well here and I had a $1 off coupon. WOO HOO free namebrand peanut butter!
I love a good sale! We too stock up on things on sale. I recently discovered we were low on Cream of Mushroom soup. We have probably five cans left. I hit a sale probably 1 1/2 to 2 years ago and bought several dozen. I guess I thought they'd never run out. Now I better go looking for a sale. Good tip.
I haven't done a Frugal Friday in a while. My brain ceaseth to function lately.
Price per ounce is so important in finding the good deals! I wasn't keeping up with that like I should until I started to use a price book. It made all the difference!
