This is a picture of my salamander Cricket when I first got him. He had a big tail fin and he was all grayish-brown colored.
This is a picture of him from a few days ago. If you look closely you can see that he has spots all over his tail and his tail fin is smaller. He is also starting to climb out of the water onto his rocks.
See? This is the cutest picture I have of him. This picture is also from a few days ago.
This picture is from about 30-45 minutes ago. This is the first time that I've seen Cricket with his gills out of the water. He climbed out all by himself. He's turning into a Tiger Salamander!

Only the first and last pictures showed up, but wow...that is soooo cool...and slimy! My children would LOVE one of those! :)
You are quite the girl, MaddieLynn. :) My kids would be thrilled if they had a salamander, too.
Nikki, how can you say "ew"? He's so cute!
Lockwoods, thanks for telling me about the picture problem. I'm not sure how to fix it.
Holly and Lockwoods, if you want to get one, I got mine from the bait shop for only $1. They were selling adult salamanders for $1 also. This might sound weird, but I'm actually using a clear Rubbermaid storage bin with a lid for his tank.
I'm going to say it ....eeeeeww and eeeewwww, again. It's making my skin crawl! Ok, I really stopped by to say hi. I saw your blog linked to someone else's and I love reading about other mom's with a quiverful. You have a beautiful family. Blessings!
Cute but slimy. Slime = ew
