Angel Biscuits

Stumble Upon Toolbar

In the comments of this post some of you expressed an interest in knowing a smaller version of the biscuit recipe that I used to make 150 biscuits.

Here is the version that makes 25:

1 Tbsp. yeast
1/4 C plus 1 Tbsp warm water (Mix and set aside.)
5 C flour
1 Tbsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 C shortening
2 C buttermilk

Mix all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast mixture. Knead lightly. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Put in greased pan and bake at 425 until golden.

(
Harmony recommends folding each biscuit over a pat of butter before baking. That sound delicious to me!)

Being a mathematically impaired individual (meaning I would probably mess up trying to downsize it myself) I thank you and those who asked for the smaller version. They DO sound Delicious. :D
