If you ever decide to splurge and spend $1.99 on an adorable little tin of dark chocolate truffles even though there are only 8 in the tin and you realize that means you are paying 25 cents for each little bite sized taste of heaven, be sure to hide them in the bottom of your purse so that you can sneak one out when there are no children hanging around.
Then after you eat your first one, DO NOT leave the tin in your purse when you take the kiddies to the pool so you can roast in the sun and save your five yr. old from drowning, because if you do you will find that the next time you open the tin there will no longer be any bite sized truffles. Instead, there will be a sheet of chocolate goop covering the bottom of the tin and the paper that separated the 2 luscious layers of truffles.
Don't worry though, a spoon works just fine to scrape out the goop, and just ignore the fact that you are essentially eating 7 truffles at once.
If you are really desperate, you can even lick the paper and the bottom of the tin, but make sure you do this out of sight of any big mouthed kids.
You DO have your dignity, you know.

Hee hee! This post made me laugh :) The other day I found an old melted Reese's at the bottom of my purse. I thought about it... twice.r
I very much enjoy reading your blog!
I am taking heed and will not let my chocolates melt in the tin in my purse, I promise! LOL
Expensive, but Yummy. :p Even melted, I'm sure they are still yummy. They make a "kisses" version of the truffles, too. It comes in a long triangular package, and is only about 75 cents.
Hugs,
Melinda
Well, at least they were melted in a tin. It's really hard to open a Lindt truffle ball when it's melted without spilling it all over your shirt...don't ask me how I know!
Thank you! I have no HAD that exact tin of truffles in my purse and can verify that they do melt into a nice messy blob if left in your purse AND they still taste wonderful if eaten in secret with a spoon. Thank you for letting me know that I am not alone in my crazy chocolate addiction!
