Baby Oil and Wipes

Stumble Upon Toolbar

Have you ever noticed that some poopy diapers are tougher to clean up than others? I don't mean the Scatter Poops that newborns give off. I'm talking about the sticky kind that take extra wipes and vigorous scrubbing. Like maybe the child ingested some tar earlier in the day.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just move right along. There's nothing for you to see here.

If you are nodding your head right about now, though, I have a tip for you.

I keep a bottle of baby oil next to my box of wipes and whenever I see that Tar Baby has produced a little something special for Mamma, I simply squirt some baby oil right in the box onto the wipes. It works great!

I also use this trick for cleaning up Sharpie on the torso, bubble gum on the nose, syrupy fingers, or other sticky messes. The baby oil on the wipe is just the right combination for easy cleaning.

Try it! Then click on over to Rocks in my Dryer for some more fabulous tips.

I know this poop. I see it way to often with Elijah. I had no idea about this baby oil trick. Thanks! I'm going to try it.

Great tip--I'm assuming I'll have a chance to see if it works sometime today! =)

My little man is just now getting to that stage (well, when he hasn't had anything prune-related in a few days anyway!). Since he's always had great skin, I've been wondering what to do with all that baby oil friends and family stocked us up with before he was born. Now I know! Awesome!

Love this idea--didn't know baby oil removed Sharpie ("What happened to your sister?" "I gave her a tatoo like Daddy's!"

Even though all mine are potty trained, I will definitely use this in the Church nursery! I'm taking our half-full bottle over there tonight! Thanks for the tip!

That is such a wonderful idea!! My 6 are always in need of a wire brush to clean them up. I will have an opportunity first thing in the morning I'm sure!

My son (baby) has an interstial lung disease, and is on oxygen. We use baby oil to get the little tendergrips (the little band aid things that hold the o2 tubes on) off without ripping his skin off. It also works well on reg. band aids. Put a little on it. Wait a bit and viola the band aid will come off without too much screaming.
