No Green Cups, Please

Stumble Upon Toolbar

We have a set of colorful plastic tumblers that we use for our drinks. Some are green, some blue, some yellow, and some pink. 'Cause we're just that Klassy.

A year or so ago, my son rescued a 3 legged frog, which had been, just moments before, the 4 legged variety, in just the nick of time before being eaten by a bird (the frog, not the son). The vehicle of rescue was one of the green cups. Which one, I cannot know.

Which is the reason that since that day, and with determined resolve, I have never taken a drink from a green cup.

Until today.

In a lapse; a moment of unexplained carelessness, I drank from a green cup.

::shudder::

LOL!! I never drink from a cup I've seen my little brothers with for reasons like that. ;)

Reminds me of these large drink containers my family used to take on road trips. I think they're 32 oz. Every family member had one. And in the summertime we'd fill them with water and take them outside and sip them all day while playing. Then the one fateful day I remember my mom washing them and suddenly started shrieking when slugs started to ooze out of the opening of one. Ever since then they've been called slug-mugs and I have refused to use them again.

Nikki,
Eeeeewwwwww! I don't think any amount of hot water or soap can wash away that image!

Are you home with your sweet baby?

HAHAHAHAAA!!! This made me laugh so hard!!!

Mr. U told me of a "cup story" when he was a teenager. His mother had dentures and, yes, you know where this is going, he accidentally drank out of the cup that her dentures were in WHILE THEY WERE STILL IN IT!!! He shudders at the thought all these years later. :)

His,
Mrs. U

I'll be sure to let Mer Bear know that she should NEVER request a green cup while we are there!!! Isn't that "her" color? :-)

Eeeewwww! Mrs. U, Great story! I would still be shuddering too.

Michele, I'll make sure MerBear gets a sanitary cup that has never had a 3 legged frog in it. Snails, however, I cannot guarantee.

Connie - you are just too funny. :) So is MaddieLynn. :) She has your sense of humor.

I TRY to make sure that plastic disposable cups or glass jars (not mason ones) are used for frogs, slugs, leeches, small snakes, bugs...) and other assorted sundry items.

:)
