Gift Basket

This is a gift basket I put together as a wedding gift. With some festive additions, it could make a wonderful Christmas gift, too.

MaddieLynn made up a chocolate chip cookie mix in a jar and a walnut brownie mix in a jar. We printed out the instructions in red ink and I bonded it to some leftover red gingham fabric and tied it on with raffia. I also included a spatula, timer, an oven mitt and hot pad, and one of my famous oilcloth aprons. (See my sidebar to purchase your very own!)

I googled "gift baskets" to find out some helpful tips in making it look nice. One of the most useful tips was to build the basket up with filler to make the gifts stand above the rim of the basket. I used Styrofoam in the bottom and covered it with netting.

To finish it, I wrapped it in white tulle and tied it with a white bow at the top.

I love it! One of my favorite gifts I have ever made someone was a diaper bag and all the compartments were stuffed with goodies.

By the way. I have a treat for my readers. Be sure to come and check it out!

Since I'm too sick to hardly sit up straight and focus on the computer, I'm just checking my favorite blogs. :) And I remember this post from before and absolutely LOVE it. And now that I know how inexpensive tulle is (thanks to a certain princess party), you've inspired me to put some baskets together for the upcoming holidays.

And by the way, on Monday I was actually feeling quite well. So I put on my FABULOUS strawberries & gingham apron, and wouldn't you know, the kitchen was sparkling, laundry caught up, and dinner made in no time! Thanks again, I love it. :)
