Black and White

Stumble Upon Toolbar

Warning: Personal opinions ahead.

I am a very "black and white" person. There aren't very many "gray" areas when it comes to my opinions.

Here is an example:

Puppies - Good. Fluffy and spunky.
Broken glass - Bad. It cuts and is difficult to clean up.

See? Black and white.

Here are some more.

Capitalism - Good. Encourages hard work and inventiveness.
Socialism - Bad. Encourages laziness and resentment.

Voluntary charity - Good. Encourages generosity and good will.
Coerced contributions - Bad. Encourages resentment and ambivalence.

Washable markers - Good. Washable. Enough said.
Permanent markers - Bad. Careless marks become PERMANENT careless marks.

Sandals in summer - Good. No socks to wash and sort.
Socks in summer - Bad. Causes unnecessary extra laundry.

Corruption in Washington - Bad. Special interest groups rule.
Voting out all incumbents - Good. Keeps politicians minding what the people want.

Scrambled eggs - Good. Easy and delicious.
Boiled eggs - Bad. Stinky and gelatinous.

I think all sensible people will agree with me on these issues. Don't you?

But of course :) Especially the last one. I made my husband poached eggs today...for the first time. Now that's vomit inducing gelatinous-ness.

Agreed!

Funny Cheryl, my hubby made me poached eggs today. I had never tried them before and he knew how to cook them. And yep, I don't want anymore.

This was a real eye-opener. lol Seriously, the part about socks in summertime made me really think.

My house smelled bad this morning with all the boiled eggs I peeled. My boys love them.

And we had broken glass this afternoon. Hammy decided it would be fun to chuck Gabby's mirror out the back door. It didn't make it past the porch and shattered all over it and into the grass. Things go haywire when babies are being fed.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I agree with it ALL. (Though, I thought you were talking about hard-boiled eggs, which I happen to like. But then I read the comments, and I have to confess that I've never had a poached egg) :)

Well sounds right to me! ;)

Nikki! There you are! I hope you are doing well. I was at a birthday party and one of my friends asked me, "WHEN is Nikki going to update?!"

Amanda, I did mean hard boiled eggs. Shoooo-wee!

Boiled eggs - yummy. Isn't it funny out of all the things you listed, I'm choosing to comment on the eggs. hee hee

Just popping over to say hello. I've been bouncing around your blog and having fun. You're too cute. :)

I love your aprons. And love that they make your hair curlier (better not buy that one myself). ha!

You crack me up.

Of course! That's how my husband and I both think! Amen!

Well, if you think capitalism is "good" in and of itself, you may wish to re-read Dickens or remember the Industrial Revolution, Irish potato famine, etc. I should prefer capitalism to socialism, but the very best thing is for charity to be in our hearts.

Charity, good. Nasty people wanting to take my money so they can spend it their way, bad. :]

Yep. I agree with every one of those. Thanks for putting it in black and white. : )

Boiled eggs: VERY bad!!

Oh, and all that other stuff you said too. :)

Mrs. C,
I admit that I haven't read up on the Irish potato famine lately. Are you saying it was caused by capitalism? Also, I'm not sure how capitalism inhibits charity. I think the two can go hand in hand very nicely.
