A Collection of Tips

Stumble Upon Toolbar

For this week's Works For Me Wednesday, I thought I'd give you a little sampling, an hors d'oeuvres bar, a snack tray, if you will. If you interpret that to mean that I am shooting blanks when it comes to any specific handy dandy tip that is changing my life and making me stand taller, then you are pretty much nailing it.

So here we go. The Works For Me Collection:

1. I got to this FABULOUS girly hair do site from Raising Olives. (Thank you, Kimberly!) Check out the hairstyles in the left sidebar. There is everything from fancy to funky and all the in between. I'll be studying up on those and trying some out on my girls for sure!

2. I have posted our standard recipe for oven roasted corn on the cob that we all love, so I am DYING to try this bacon wrapped corn on the cob from Paula Deen. I think we can all agree that bacon makes everything better.

3. You may already know this, but I am just finding out that if you sign more than one of your children up for music lessons or sports, it pays to ask if discounts are available for multiple children in the same family. We just signed up a few girls for gymnastics and got a discount for each one after the initial sign up.

4. Finally, if you love to bake cookies, but hate to clean the cookie trays like I do, use aluminum foil. Just slap some down on the tray, give it a quick spray with cooking spray and load it up with cookies. When you are done, throw away the foil and put the tray away WITHOUT EVEN WASHING IT! Then, twirl around and laugh a wicked laugh. It'll do ya' good.

Don't forget to click on the Works For Me logo up top for more great tips.

If you get one of those pizza stones then you don't even have to bother with the foil. For an even cheaper version of the pizza stone, go to L*wes or H*me dep*t and look for an unglazed floor tile. According to Alton Brown of Good Eats, those work just as well.

I always put down aluminum foil LOL ~ and the corn sounds DELISH!

Come stop by my blog ~ I’m sharing a tasty thing I found that works for me and my daughter, which you’ll see LOL. Plus I have a little info on a Non-BlogHer party going on with GIVEAWAYS and fun!! http://www.garibaysoup.com

The hodge-podge tips are the best! I especially like the hairdo one...now I just need a girl who'll sit still and submit to my desire to style her hair. Sigh.

I also use stones for cookie baking, remember I'm the queen at finding Pampered Chef at yard sales! Most of my stones have cost $2 or less (insert twirl and wicked laugh here).

Thanks!!

Bacon wrapped corn on the cob!?!? I am at a loss for words for how yummy that must be. And of course, something like that would come from Paula Deen. Ain't she somethin'?

I use parchment paper instead of foil and it works great! Plus you can use it several times before it needs to be tossed =)
