I saw this fun meme for moms at Rocks In My Dryer, so I thought I'd play along.
How long were your labors?
#1 - 9 hours.
#2 - 10 hours
#3 - 2 hours.
#4 - 1 hour. My easiest, breeziest one! (Labor, not child!)
#5 - 3 hours.
#6 - 10 hours.
#7 - 3 days. Oh, wait. It only seemed that way. It was 20 hours.
How did you know you were in labor?
#1, mild contractions 5 minutes apart. I was giving a spelling test at school when I noticed, but I was clueless about what it meant. The other teachers had to tell me to get to the hospital!
#2, frequent contractions.
#3, same, with some stomach upset.
#4, same.
#5, doctor told me at my check up. I had no idea.
#6, doctor told me again.
#7, contractions and a sleepless night at home.
Where did you deliver?
The hospital.
Drugs?
#1, epidural. I had to get a sedative first, though. I was too antsy to let the anesthesiologist come near me with that needle!
#2, epidural.
#3, no time for an epidural, only Demerol.
#4, no time for anything.
#5, nothing.
#6, nothing.
#7, nothing.
C-section?
No, thank you.
Who delivered?
#1, doctor.
#2, doctor.
#3, doctor.
#4, husband delivered the head, then doctor on call (who I had never laid eyes on before) took over.
#5, doctor.
#6, doctor.
#7, doctor.
