A Cooking Tip

Stumble Upon Toolbar

When you are making candied apricots, do not walk away from the simmering mixture on the third day of the lengthy process to go into your son's room to look for something in his closet.

Because, if you do, you might just spend the next half hour in there going through the closet and wondering if he's been hiding a family of elves, what with all the dirty socks, empty shoe boxes, wires and bolts, crumpled sketches of cannons, shriveled apple cores, old batteries, unbent paper clips, and forks(!?) and forget all about the apricots.

In that case, the mixture will be a gooey, scorched mess, and you will have the urge to cry over all those ruined apricots and all the minutes you wasted tenderly stirring them and anticipating their wonderful candied goodness.

That is so frustrating! And I've been meaning to ask, where did you go apple picking at??

Yuck! I've been there - with 8 quarts of mango chutney. So sorry!

PS - I really will get back to MaddieLynn one of these days about my blog design.

Jennifer, We have some elderly friends who live out past the hospital. They have lots of fruit trees that they have a hard time keeping up with.

Sherilyn, No problem. Take your time.

The Momma and Shari, I KNOW! GAH!
