Crock Pot Pork Chops

Stumble Upon Toolbar

Ideally, I like to be home to start preparing dinner around 4:00 in the afternoon. Realistically, that doesn't always happen.

On days that I know I will be out of the house for most of the day, or if I just want to have the dinner prep work done earlier in the day, I use my crock pot.

One recipe my family enjoys is Crock Pot Pork Chops. You can add or delete or change the ingredients to suit your own family. This recipe suits our size and our tastes.

Crock Pot Pork Chops
4 cups brown rice
6 whole carrots
1 onion, cut in wedges
8 pork chops
2 cans "cream of" soup
4 cups water

Place first 4 ingredients in a large crock pot in the order given. Stir soup and water together and pour on top. Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours. (The rice in this dish is sort of mushy and creamy from the soup and the long cooking time, but we like it this way.)

Ooh, that looks good, Connie. I don't usually buy pork chops, but that's more from not knowing what to do with them rather than not liking them. I'll give this a try sometime!

That sounds good. Is that the brown rice that takes an hour to cook regularly or an instant brown rice?

Yum! In the summer I put my crock pot out in the garage or on the patio to cook so it won't heat up my kitchen. In the winter I LOVE to have it warm up my kitchen. Just a thought!

My husband thanks you, big time!

Do the pork chops need to be boneless? If not, I have a couple dozen in the freezer from a super sale a few weeks ago.

I'd much rather have just the heat of the crock pot in the kitchen than the whole oven!
