A Young Lady

Stumble Upon Toolbar

MaddieLynn turned 13 on Thursday, but she isn't a teenager. We have long said that we won't be having teenagers, but young ladies and young men. She is a young lady, and we couldn't be more proud of her!

For a long time she has wanted the two of us to take a cake decorating course together, but there just isn't anything like that available in our small town. Then, one day a few weeks ago, out of the blue, a sweet lady at church who just happens to be an expert at decorating cakes offered to give her lessons.

She said she would like to give MaddieLynn, as a gift, all the supplies she would need and come over once a week to teach her. She wanted to do this because she thinks so much of the young lady MaddieLynn is becoming.

We managed to arrange this as a birthday surprise that was very well received.

We thank God for the beautiful young lady He has given us. She is loved by many.

Lovely girl, and happy birthday from another March baby.=)

I like to call these young people the 'anti-teenagers.'=)

I do not know her, but I do know she is a wonderful young lady. After reading your blog I sat down and talked with my husband about this and the fact "teenager" has such a negative conotation. Thank you for posting this and if you don't mind, we are going to "steal" your idea of young men. We do not have any girls so can not use young lady.
