Health Update

Stumble Upon Toolbar

Today no one else has gotten sick so far. The 3 yr. old only threw up twice early in the day and no more since then. Hopefully, this is the end of it and we won't pass it around.

There have been a couple of times when everyone in our family has passed around a stomach virus. Those were not fun days!

As for our poodle, when we first saw her having a seizure, we thought that the baby had played too roughly with her and broken her back. She was flopping around uncontrollably, drooling, and breathing erratically. We really did think she was dying.

The vet said that occasionally a dog will have an unexplained seizure with no adverse affects, and he didn't recommend any testing unless it happened again.

So, all is well at Smockityville. Thank you for all your well wishes.

My dearly departed teacup poodle once had a seizure. She was lying there looking like she was drugged, twitching her limbs. I thought maybe she'd peed in the house again and my dad had "laid on hands." We took her to the vet, and we brought her back home with us that night. She never had another one again, to my knowledge.

I'm glad it looks like you might have dodged the proverbial bullet with the stomach virus. That's one thing I'm not looking forward to about having a (hopefully) big family. Both of us HATE having to deal with barf, so I don't know who's going to be the default cleaner-upper. I'd much rather clean up poop or snot or something.

(I say this now, but who knows what the future may bring)

Aside from enforcing proper hygiene, do you have any special strategies for disease containment and quarantine?

Yay! Glad it looks everyone else has escaped the bug. I'm convinced it's an internet germ since I have seen several bloggers with puking kids lately, lol. Us included, unfortunately! But our one 'victim' (4 yr old) did take a couple of extra (and extra long) naps following his bug, lucky me. ;)
