Kellogg's Frosted Flakes

Stumble Upon Toolbar

This week's Works For Me Wednesday is the "Brand Loyalty" edition.

This one is a toughie for me because I am not a "brand loyal" type. Whatever is the cheapest, whether it is on sale or is the generic store brand, is what I usually go for.

My husband, however, is a different sort. Even though he will spend every minute of two long hours at the grocery store with all six kiddos (Is it any wonder I love that guy?) examining the price per ounce of every brand of tomato sauce, there are some things that he absolutely will not compromise on.

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes is one of those things. He loves cereal, especially as a late night snack, and Tony the Tiger is a must have staple in this house. He might be able to tolerate the generic Cocoa Puffs or the store brand knock off of Cap'n Crunch, but when it comes to frosted flakes of corn, if it doesn't come in a big blue box with a picture of Tony the Tiger on it, then it won't be making the car ride home to Smockity Central.

The store brand in this case just doesn't measure up.

There you have it. We here at Smockity Frocks lend our unwavering loyalty to that icon of breakfast foods, Tony the Tiger.

Check out Rocks in my Dryer to see what other brands might be worth your loyalty.

We're picky about our cereals too and refuse to buy generic brands. They just don't taste as good! :)

Why can't they make a good generic cereal? I've never had one!

Have you ever tried to switch generic into the blue box? Just wondering...I'm a brat like that. lol

Of course, if it were me...I'd know the difference because I am huge fan of the Tony as well.

I've heard more often that that brand can't be copied.
Like zen master I wonder how he'll react when something else is in his blue box. LOL!

I totally agree with you on this one.

We do generic cereal except for one. Kashi Cinnamon Harvest. I love me some 7 whole grains!

We are a generic cereal family...well everyone except for me! I have to have the name brands when I eat them (which is rare).

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes are the only kind of flake I can handle. The rest go soggy too fast or taste like cardboard. Cereal sounds like a yummy nighttime treat right now!
