Here is a recipe for quick and easy mint tea. It's really good, and we all love it!
*This recipe makes 1 gallon of tea. If you don't have a gallon pitcher, you should cut it in half.*
Mint Tea
2 handfuls of fresh mint leaves
4 bags of tea
1 1/3 cups of sugar
1 gallon of water
Put the tea and the mint leaves together into a glass bowl. Add just enough water to cover the tops of the tea bags. The mint leaves will float. Cover the bowl with something microwave safe (like a saucer). Microwave for 3 minutes. Leave it covered for 5 more minutes to steep. Put the sugar into the pitcher. Pour the tea in through a strainer. Add enough water to make 1 gallon and stir. I think this tea is best when it is cool to cold, but without ice.
And here is another conversation I heard when I was picking leaves for mint tea.
Pickles: "What are you picking those for?"
Me: "Mint tea."
Pickles: "Oooh! Mint tea!"
Katie-bug (copying Pickles): "Oooh! Mint tea!" Then, after a moment's thought, "Is it gross?''
